Bit CharrúaBit Charrúa

Bit Charrúa is a tech store and repair shop on Av. 18 de Julio 1710, at the corner of Magallanes, in central Montevideo. It sells new, refurbished and used devices and fixes the ones people already own. I designed and built the site on my own.

A neighbourhood shop's website has a simple job that's easy to get wrong: answer the questions people would otherwise call about. Are you open? How much will this repair cost? Is this used phone's battery any good?

Most customers in Uruguay would also rather message than fill in a checkout form, so the site had to hand off to WhatsApp naturally.

The hero shows live opening hours ("Closed, opens tomorrow at 10"), so the most common question is answered before anyone scrolls. The store has categories, search, accounts and a cart, and every used or refurbished device shows its battery health.

Repairs have their own flow with prices listed upfront, which removes the awkward "how much?" conversation. Orders go through WhatsApp or email, with a floating WhatsApp button always in reach. Google Maps and Google Reviews put the location and the shop's reputation on the page.

A dark teal palette and a large line-art illustration that merges a charrúa figure with a bit give the shop an identity that's local and technical at once, instead of looking like every other phone store.
